Tiny stafordians had a very enjoyable and exciting field trip on Friday 21st July 2017 when they visited the creamy World Ice Cream factory accompanied with their teachers. The students’ field trip was to learn and understand how the yummy treat is prepared. They had an opportunity to visit one of the most modern ice cream factory, which had giant vats churning different ingredients like milk, sugar, vegetable oil, glucose, etc. to make their favorite ice cream. The students were shown the process of pasteurisation and homogenisation , where the mixture is then frozen in special machines that agitate it, using paddles or dashers, combining air to keep the ice crystals small and freeze it at the perfect temperature to create a smooth and creamy-textured ice cream.
The aim for this visit was to bring awareness about the world around them and to instill life skills.
The visit helped the children to understand how their favourite delicacy is made before it tickles their taste buds. It was an interesting and informative trip. The best part of the day was when the children and teachers were treated to ice creams. What a treat especially in this heat!!!!!
