16th September 2013, Monday is observed as the World Ozone Day all over the world. A special assembly was organized in Staford school as an educational initiative and a step to prompt young Stafordians to start contributing their bit in nurturing and looking after Mother Earth.
Ozone hole and its depletion is a cause of great environmental concern today. Through the Montreal Protocol the countries have pledged their share of awareness towards the saving of ozone, yet there is still a dire need to be aware about the factors affecting the ozone. Keeping this as the objective, a presentation introducing the meaning and impact of ozone depletion, a skit depicting the causes of ozone depletion, a talk urging awareness towards environmental causes and a collective pledge taken by the Staff and students of Staford School to help save and strengthen the ozone layer formed the itinerary of the day.
The special assembly conducted by Mr. Saeed, with inputs from the science teachers was quite informative and appreciated by the Principal, Headmistress and the entire staff who commended the hard work put in by the students in preparing the presentation.
