The Staford School paid a special tribute to the heroes of the Kargil war in a special assembly organized to commemorate the Kargil Vijay Diwas. The children were reminded of the valor and selflessness with which the soldiers of the Indian Army fought off the infiltration from across the border and ensured that our motherland remained secure. The whole event reverberated with an air of patriotic fervor.
Teachers shared the timeline of the events, and told the children of touching but highly inspiring stories of the fortitude and valor of our soldiers in separate presentations in English and Hindi. This infused a sense of nationality and oneness among the students. The school paid a glowing tribute to the martyrs of the Kargil War, some of whom belonged to Lucknow and made us proud. We at Staford proudly remember and pay homage to the gallant martyrs Capt. Manoj Kumar Pandey, Capt Aditya Mishra, Rifleman Sunil Jung and Lance Nayak Kewal Nand Dwivedi of Lucknow who not only fought bravely but even made the supreme sacrifice of their lives in order to uphold the dignity and honor of our country and its citizens. Jai Hind!
