Storytelling is an important strategy to develop language and emotional skills. There is more fun added when the narrator uses a puppet to create and relate a story. Our children are learning to express themselves and they got a golden opportunity to put their skills on display in a presentation during the school assembly. Class II-A enacted the story “The Lion and a Clever Hare” through hand and finger puppets. They enlivened the assembly with their performance while delivering the moral that wisdom can win over physical strength and might.
The children demonstrated self confidence and a lot of dexterity while putting to use their sense of balance & movement, and coordinating listening, speech, and touch while enacting the story using the puppets. Social skills of cooperation, coordination, and following the leaders were also put to use and all this testing and learning happened through a fun filled entertaining story narration activity.
