The Summer Blossoms summer camp-2014 organized by Staford School this year was a successful event with lots of fun filled learning taking place in the green and serene environment of the school. The Summer Blossoms camp saw the participation of young enthusiasts from Staford, as well as other schools, with children ranging from 5 to 16 years of age.
The four week camp commenced on 12th May and culminated in a grand finale on 7th June 2014. The children thoroughly enjoyed the swimming classes and beat the summer heat by splashing in the awesome pool for over an hour. They put their creativity to test in the art classes with candle making, clay modeling, paper-quilling, card making and glass painting. Knowing the importance of physical activities, we ensured that children got a full body exercise through the challenging hip-hop, contemporary and Bollywood styles of dancing. Badminton and Table tennis were their favorite partnership games sports this summer. But the hot favorite this season were the PD and computer classes. The PD classes had a whole lot of learning lessons- right from grooming to table manners, from conversation classes to accent & voice modulation, from expressions to theater.
With so much fun and learning happening, the grand finale was a much awaited event with a presentation of everything learnt. The children presented a skit, and a thematic representation of the nava rasas , followed by excellently choreographed and brilliantly executed dance items on each of the styles learnt. There was also a guitar and vocal recital to enthrall the audiences. Finally the art and craft exhibition showcased the artefacts made by the children. All in all it was a great conclusion to a great event.
