The Staford School conducted its first inter house singing competition for the children of classes 2 to 6. The teams comprised of enthusiastic contestants from Amber, Garnet, Emerald and Sapphire house. This event was a first of its kind because the students got a feel of what it is like to compete, to work as a team and how wonderful it feels to achieve something as a group. This inter-house competition also helped inculcate a sense of belonging and pride of being part of a team. The children experienced the thrill of performing in front of the entire school. All the children were extremely enthusiastic and supported the participants with great zeal.
The first to perform on stage was Amber House and they set the mood for the day with saare jahan se accha. The song was much in sync with the sense of patriotism already infused through the Vijay Diwas celebrations earlier in the morning. The songs performed by Garnet House, Emerald House and Sapphire House, respectively, were also well chosen and well performed. The contestants had the school clapping to the beats of their tunes and enjoying each presentation thoroughly.
All the houses put their best foot forward, giving a stiff competition to each other as was evident from the scores received by each house. This Group singing competition was judged by our School Principal Mr.S.K. Singh and the headmistress Ms. Vijaya Kumar. Garnet House bagged the 1st position followed by Amber in the 2nd place. Emerald House inched ahead to secure the 3rd place with a narrow margin separating them from Sapphire house, which came in last
The event culminated with the Principal congratulating the participants. He also addressed the students, encouraging them to enthusiastically participate in all the future eventsl. He also appreciated the teachers for grooming the children and making the event successful.
