The society we live in today could not exist without the influence from past generations. Human beings, as creatures of habit and tradition, hand down lessons and knowledge from one generation to the next. We take pride in ourselves on leaving a legacy of knowledge for our descendants to utilize our tradition of storytelling facilitates this transfer of knowledge. As a result, storytelling remains to this day the single most important tradition humans participate in.
Story-telling aims to encourage and expand innovative and creative thinking among the student. Staford School, Hardoi Road organized a storytelling competition on 19th Dec, 2018 for classes I to IV to groom communication skills of the students.
The objective of the contest was to encourage speaking skills and to make participants geared up and confident enough to narrate their stories. Different stories titled as bundle of sticks, a golden egg, honest and patience, price of smile and many more were presented with some eye catching props made by the students.
The participants were well prepared and they used various skills like overstatement, rhetoric, irony etc. to convince the audience. Overall competition was very vivid and impressive and it was an uphill task for the judges to shortlist the winners.
