The 72nd Republic Day reached its heights on 26th January, 2021 at Staford School, reaffirming our loyalty to our country and acknowledging the sacrifices by our unsung heroes.
The chilly morning infused with the tunes of patriotic songs made us swell with enthusiasm and patriotic fervour. The unfurling of National flag by Honourable Director , Staford School, Mr. Ambrish Bansal and Assistant Director, Ms. Anjali Bansal in the presence of Principal, Ms. Ratna Khanna and staff members marked the commencement of the celebrations. The students of classes IX to XII sang National Anthem and paid tribute to the framers of our Constitution and all the heroes of freedom struggle who worked tirelessly to give India its sovereign, democratic status as a republic.
For classes Nursery to VIII, virtual activities were organized to commemorate this auspicious day. While students of classes Nursery and I actively took part in fancy dress on different states and freedom fighters respectively, Classes KG, III and IV portrayed their creative side by doing origami (tricoloured flowers), making broaches and painting on the theme- Swachh aur Sundar Uttar Pradesh
Students of classes II and III also raised slogans of famous freedom fighters and sang patriotic songs with gaiety. The young quizzers of classes II, VI and VIII confidently gave answers to questions posed on their state, Uttar Pradesh, freedom fighters and Constitution.
Students of classes V and VII participated in oratory activities where they enacted advertisements with a social message and cited famous incidents from the life of freedom fighters, thereby capturing the essence of India’s glorious history.
The activities highlighted the basic ideals of Justice, Liberty, Equality and Fraternity and made the atmosphere more energetic and enthralling.
The celebrations filled the students with an urge to rededicate themselves to building a stronger and better India- an India of our dreams built on the sweat, toil and aspirations of millions of Indians across the length and breadth of our country.
