Stafordians celebrate Independence Day Virtually

You are here: Home / Hardoi Road / Stafordians celebrate Independence Day Virtually

18 Aug 2020

Flow of patriotism could not be contained by the prevailing circumstances. COVID-19 is the undreamt nightmare that has actualised the uncertain restrictions on every common folk, preventing us to take part in any gathering due to social distancing norms for our safety. However, the current scenario could not deter us from paying tribute to our nation. Upholding the spirit of nationalism, Stafordians plunged themselves  in an intense stream of patriotism, celebration and festivity and decided to opt for a virtual celebration of our 74thIndependenceDay.

Nonetheless, keeping in line with the tradition, the flag hoisting took place in the school campus, which was attended by all admin and support staff.  Principal Mrs. Ratna Khanna unfurled the National Flag followed by the reverent singing of the national anthem.

The occasion was marked with many interesting and enthralling online activities organised for the children. It was a wondrous sight to eye up the students participating enthusiastically, manifesting true colours of patriotism.

The tiny tots of Nursery and KG coloured outlines of Indian flag using thumb impression and prepared tricolour badges respectively. Students of class I recited patriotic poems highlighting the struggle of freedom fighters. Class II dedicated their performances to all the great Indian patriots. They enacted as famous freedom fighters, delivering their dialogues. Kids of classes III showed their creative side by making wall hangings on the theme of Independence Day.

The scene of flag hoisting ceremony (an integral part of Independence Day celebrations) was drawn and painted by the students of class IV. The young quizzers of class V actively participated in the online patriotic quiz. Promoting the guidelines of Covid-19 and encouraging others to take all necessary precautions, the students of classes VI, IX, X and XII painted the face masks with many vibrant patterns on them.

Poster making activity and JAM session was organised on the topic ‘Independence Day during Pandemic’ for classes VII and VIII respectively. Last but not the least, the students of class XI expressed themselves on the topic ‘Where do we stand today in Independent India?’ by designing posters in vibrant hues.  A novel experience-all the virtual activities were thoroughly enjoyed by the participants. The true spirit of freedom was evident among all, filling the virtual ambience with gaiety and patriotism.

The exuberance and fervour exhibited by our students during ‘virtual’ celebrations holds testimony about unflinching love and devotion they have for their motherland.
