Students of Staford School celebrated the 71st independence day with great patriotic fervor, zeal and zest, saluting the spirit of India.
The celebration began with the unfurling of the national flag by the chief guest, Ms. Madhavi Kuckreja, who works with the NGOs Vanangana and Sanatkada. She is known for her work with the lowest rung in Uttar Pradesh’s feudal system-lower caste- dalit women and for her tireless efforts to make them independent by training them into unusual but highly fruitful vocations to help them become influential “instruments of development” for the society.
The anchors for the day-PrathamPandey,Umama Junaid,Waheb Abbas, Aparna Pandey and Nausheen Noor, all class X students of the school, welcomed all the guests and managed the program with utmost confidence and perfection.
Students from the dance club began the series of performances by their thought provoking dance performance-focused on air pollution and its ill effects on the citizens of free India.”Janam bhumi pe jaan lutate hain” group song performed by the students of class VI was dedicated to the brave soldiers of our country. It enhanced the spirit of patriotism for every one present in the program. The students of the dance club presented a glimpse of history from the life of Shivaji through their dance performance. The students of class V depicted, in their well choreographed dance performance- “ Main Bharat Bol Raha Hoon,” the aspirations of our nation from its citizens. After 70 years of our independence, problems like illiteracy, poverty, inequality and corruption are the biggest hindrance in our progress- the performance stressed on the need to control the population of India and stop the exploitation of resources so as to ensure a better future for the citizens. The Teaching Staff of the school too paid homage to our unsung heroes through a group song “Shat Shat Naman Karte hain Hum.”
Today happened to be Janmashtami too and the Art club students rung in the celebrations through their dance performance dedicated to Krishna.
Last but not the least, the program concluded on a high note with the dance performance by the dance club students. The entire program was liked and much appreciated by all the guests.
Sweets were distributed at the end of the program to one and all, to carry home the sweetness of the day-celebrated with great enthusiasm.
