On 15th August, 2018, Staford School,Hardoi Road,Lucknow, celebrated Independence Day with zeal and spirit befitting the occasion.The Chief Guest for the event was Commander HarminderSaluja, retired officer, Indian Naval Services. Director, Mr AmbrishBansal, Deputy Director, Mrs. Anjali Bansal and the Principal,Mrs.RatnaKhanna graced the occasion. To commemorate the independence of our nation, the Chief Guest unfurled the tricolour flag, which is the symbol of freedom, struggle and integrity. It wasfollowed by the National Anthem in unison.
The school choir set the pitch for the program with a Welcome Song followed by a couple of patriotic songs that awakened everyone’s feelings towards our motherland.
The tiny tots from classes Pre Nursery and Nursery presented a dance medley on the theme of courage, determination and patriotism. The dance was much appreciated by all, evoking a sense of pride and joy.
The students of class I showcased the spirit of nationalism and sacrifice imbibed in our soldiers through a dance performance on the song ‘AaoBacchon’. The students of classes V to XI expressed their sentiments and aspirations for the country by various dance performances. The melodious music and graceful movements of the dancers were spellbinding.
The Chief Guest addressed the gathering with his inspiring words. He emphasised on the role of fundamental principles like self- discipline, positive attitude, passion to do well in future, respect for elders and teachers, time management, care and compassion in making each student a better human being and a responsible citizen of India.
The program concluded with the Vote of thanks by Principal Ma’am. The celebrations could not be completed without the distribution of sweets. At the end of the ceremony,ladooswere distributed to the students as a token of love and concern.
The students dispersed after snacks with the image of the fluttering tricolour in their minds. Indeed, it was a day of joy, a day to love and respect our country.
