With the aim of imparting road safety education in a practical way, Staford School organized a trip to the Traffic Training Park at Krishna Nagar, on 26th December, 2016, for the students of classes IV & V.
The traffic park is well equipped with traffic signals, road signs, small roads, road crossings and miniature buildings. The park had two distinct zones- Student zone and information zone. The student zone had fun- filled and interesting games, intended to teach the students the basics of road traffic through various interactive activities.
The information zone displayed the statistics about different states regarding accidents, road safety etc. It also had the hoardings informing the students about the safety rules for pedestrians, two wheelers and four wheelers. The students explored the park and received detailed information about rules and regulation on road by Mr. Pankaj from “Hero Motocorp”. He guided the students throughout the trip and briefed them about the different traffic signals, safety rules, penalties and offences while driving and parking of vehicles.
The students liked the interactive session in which knowledge about different road signs, traffic rules, safety measures while driving/riding and consequences of ignoring them was well imparted to them. The young Stafordians learnt about the importance and significance of footpaths, zebra-crossing and traffic lights. In the end, the students actively participated in question-answer round in which they were asked various question based on information and knowledge received during the session at the traffic park.
The students enjoyed the trip to the fullest. Overall, it was an informative experience, with a mix of enjoyment and education for the students.
