The week long independence day celebrations in Staford School came to an end on 17th August, with the entire school being drenched in the multi hued colours of the rangoli and mehndi competition for classes IV to VI. With Raksha Bandhan round the corner the children of classes II and III had a rakhi making competition to infuse the spirit of festivity.
The children had an opportunity to display their innate creative talents through this competition. Their spontaneity and creativity was put to test when they were required to come up with attractive designs for rangoli, without prior notice or practice. Group effort, team spirit and individual inputs in the form of planning, designing, outlining, analyzing the colour combinations and presenting the final rangoli or mehndi designs- made the day for the winning teams.
Sapphire House stood first, with Amber House and Emerald House following suit. This competition was an interesting and unique way to express creative talent of young Stafordians and gave each of them an opportunity to contribute in some way or the other to a creative pursuit.
