Friday, 19 July 2013, was celebrated as the Rain Dance in school. The purpose of this event, held specially for the pre-primary section, was to introduce the tiny-tots to the monsoon season and all the best practices that go along with it. The school had installed sprinklers to produce artificial rain so as to give the kids a real feel of the monsoon!
Children of classes nursery to 1, enjoyed themselves thoroughly as they experienced the joy of splashing about in the puddles, having fun in the rain while staying protected from the rains in their raincoats. The multi-hued raincoats and umbrellas and the bright eyed, smiling faces of the children infused the atmosphere with energy and fun.
Back in the classes, the children were engaged in activities related to the Monsoon or the rainy season. They learned new vocabulary, colored and painted umbrellas, and had all kind of fun art craft activities to help them associate better with the rains and the accessories used in this season.
Who says you can’t learn something even while having fun!
