The pre-primary section of Staford School celebrated Friday, 1st August 2014 as Pets’ Day. Aimed at spreading awareness about the environment and an insight into how animals and birds can be a part of our family, the Pets’ Day was celebrated with gusto.
The toddlers were treated to “Bugs Bunny” – a movie which the children enjoyed immensely. Later they played a game in which they had to guess the animals based on the sounds they heard. In an interactive session, the students were happy to share their experiences with pets. They spoke about various animals and later admired the school’s fish aquarium. Children also prepared art and craft artefacts and made a rabbit in the cotton-pasting activity. The older group crafted masks of different animals such as dogs, cats, and rabbits.
Through various activities throughout the day, the children got to know about pets, their needs, habitat, peculiarities, and habits. The day also helped inculcate a love for the pets.
