As a part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, National Unity Day’ also known as ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’ was
celebrated at Staford School on 30 th October 2019 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar
Vallabhbhai Patel, whose pivotal role in successfully integrating over 500 princely states under the
Indian Dominion after Independence, is remembered and cherished every year. The ‘Iron Man of India’,
as he is justly called, originally born in Gujarat, had a prolific personality encompassing a stoic character
of resolute determination and ambitious vision of National Integration.
With overwhelming smiles and proud ‘Indian’ hearts, the event began with a short speech by students
of classes VII and IX , giving a brief enumeration of Sardar Patel’s role and significance in creating an
integrated, inclusive India.
A short skit by students of class XI threw light on Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, an initiative by the Govt of
India under the leadership of Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi.
Principal ,Staford School initiated the Pledge ceremony, wherein everybody took a pledge to responsibly
deliver their duties, whilst believing in the Unified territory of our country.
With the heads held high, everyone acknowledged the contributions made by our prominent leaders in
constructing the Modern India. The activity made sure that everybody shall remain united in
consolidated brotherhood and stay integrated, despite of diversity, to ensure a better nation and a
unified Indian fraternity.
