26th January is a gala day for every Indian and is celebrated as a festival every year. The 70th Republic Day was celebrated with pride and patriotism at Staford School. The entire school was resplendent in the shades of tricolour.
The ceremony began with the hoisting of the tricolour, the pride of our Nation, by the revered Chief Guest Lt Col Nihal Rashid Abbasi followed by the National Anthem. Students of class VII and VIII welcomed the guests of honour by their soulful presentation of song and dance .
The tiny Stafordians of pre-primary and Pre-school enlivened the atmosphere through their performances. This was followed by the enthusiastic dance performances of classes 1, 2 and 3.
The power and energy exhibited by the students of class 4, 5and 6 through their lively dance performances intensified the grandeur and solemnity of the occasion.
The thought-provoking speech of the Chief Guest made everyone realise the importance of being an Indian and motivated the students to uphold the honour and integrity of our nation.
The programme came to an end with a vote of thanks by the honourable Principal, Mrs. Ratna Khanna, followed by the sweet distribution to the students.
