Mathematics makes our life orderly and prevents chaos. Experience says learning maths can be made easier and enjoyable if our curriculum includes mathematical activities and games.
Time activity guides our children through learning about the date, time, minutes, hours. Learning through time activity solidifies the concept of young scholars. Time is used to quantify, measure, or compare the duration of events or the intervals between them and even the sequence of events.
“Time is free, but it’s priceless. You can’t own it but you can use it. You can’t keep it, but you can spend it. Once you’ve lost it you can never get it back” Harvey Mackey
We measure time in sec, hours, minutes, days, weeks, months, and years with clock and calendars.
A Hands-on Activity was organized for grade 3 children on the topic “Measures of Time”. For this activity, students were required to make a handmade clock and table calendar. During this activity, Stafordians presented their beautiful clock. Some questions were asked related to the clock and calendar. Through this activity, Stafordians got the opportunity to present themselves. First, they gave an introduction about themselves and told a few lines on the calendar and clock. Some students told the importance of calendar and clock in our life.
Through this activity, Stafordians got an insight knowledge about the calendar and clock. The enthusiasm among students to present themselves with their clock was worth watching. This activity proves to be a great success.
We cannot turn the clock back, but we can do our best today to make tomorrow a happier time.
At the end, I would like to thanks parent for their efforts and co-operation. Without their valuable guidance, this activity was not possible.
