Class IV B ended the last day of the school before the summer vacations, with an enjoyable Robotics class, where they constructed a folding bridge.
The class commenced with a brief introduction on different kinds of bridges such as the beam, arch and suspension bridges. Next, the concept of a folding bridge was introduced. The children were told that it is a type of movable bridge which is designed to fold up, to accommodate ship traffic which needs to move through the waterway spanned by the bridge. Folding bridges can be used to accommodate pedestrian or vehicular traffic.
The students took keen interest in making the structure. While a few of them assembled the remote control device, others made paper boats to see the actual working of a folding bridge.
Overall, it was an enthralling experience for these young students before their much awaited summer break.
