Zebra crossing is a pedestrian crossing used in many countries around the world. Its distinguishing feature is the alternating dark and light stripes on the road surface, from which it derives its name. A zebra crossing typically gives the right of way to pedestrians.
In India, we have millions of zebra crossings but people are not educated or aware enough to use the zebra crossing. In India, people need to know, follow and obey traffic rules to ensure better traffic. Staford wishes to make its children conscientious, law abiding citizens with proper civic sense. Thus, the prep section to the initiative this Friday to teach the little ones a little more about the traffic rules.
Staford brought the zebra crossing into the school premises, and children were taught about traffic lights, their impact and also taught the concept of the zebra crossing. Stafordians learned the significance of zebra crossing and the lesson for motorist to stop the vehicle if they notice a pedestrian on zebra crossing and give them the right of way.
Back in class the children sang rhymes on traffic lights and learnt more about its significance.
