Forget the rest, lemonade is the best!
This was the predominant thought today, 6th August, when the tiny Stafordians, dressed in lemon yellow, learnt to make lemonade. Children find soft drinks very tempting but such beverages should be discouraged, and this was one of the messages that the little ones took home with them today.
The key activity of the Lemonade day involved making lemonade. Children brought the ingredients required for the drink –such as lemons, and sugar- from their home. They made lemonade by mixing two teaspoons of sugar in a glassful of water and squeezing a lemon into it. They then enjoyed the refreshing drink while learning about the various benefits it offers. Its a drink that is enjoyed by all age groups and is a surefire way to beat the heat!
Apart from making the lemonade, children also participated in group activities like thumb printing. They also coloured the lemons! At the end of the day, children were able to understand the taste of a lemon, its shape, texture, colour, and of course how to make lemonade. All in all, it was a great and fun filled learning experience for all the students!
