Students of classes 1 to class 3 visited Kakori Railway station as part of an educational field trip. At the station, the children were briefed about the historical significance of the station and how the Railway Station of Kakori was built. The children saw the ticketing process and were explained the need of a ticket as well as its importance in terms of revenue to the government.
The children were taken to the control room and were introduced to the station master who provided them information about the yard plan, control frame, control keys, traffic lights and the functioning of internal telephones. The children even observed the passage of trains, working of signals and functioning of guards.
At the end of the day, the children were familiar not only with the working of the railway station, but also the historical significance of the Kakori Railway Station. As a token of their gratitude, the children presented a hand- made “Thank You” card to the station master who had made this learning experience possible for them.
