It was an ideal day for the students of class VA as they prepared a working model of pantograph during their Robotics period. A pantograph is a drawing instrument used to magnify figures. It has a fixed point and uses a mechanical linkage based on parallelograms so that the movement of one pen, in tracing an image, produces identical movements in a second pen.
The students were thrilled to trace a figure and obtain a magnified image of the same. To make the class even more attention-grabbing, the modern versions of pantograph were shown to the students through a projector. Not only this, a discussion on the uses of pantograph made the young roboteers understand the role of the equipment in scaling and copying drawings, sculpting and minting.
Overall, it was a fun filled and interactive session for the students before the much awaited summer vacations.
