To enhance learning by simpler and joyful methods is what Staford School strives for. Mathematics has always been a source of terror for most students, in most schools, but we know that if this subject is taught using different interactive methods, this terror is washed away in the upsurge of interest and curiosity of the learners. Henceforth the topic of Shapes and Patterns was taken up with great enthusiasm by the students of Class IV and various aspects of shapes such as sides, vertices and specific structures was easily understood by the learners. Worksheets based on cutting and pasting of geometrical shapes into some interesting designs not only facilitated fast learning but also helped to hold the interest of the students. Exercises based on colouring the specific patterns gave a boost to reasoning skills. In this way Mathematics became a fun subject for class IV and the activity helped them to remove their inhibitions and reservations about the subject.
