Christmas celebrates the glorious advent of the Son of God, Jesus Christ, on this earth. Born in Bethlehem, He rose from humble beginning to become a World Teacher. His message of love and compassion inspires millions of followers all over the world even today. The essence of Christmas is to realise the Christ consciousness, which is but, our inner self. Christmas is a time to give and forgive.
Staford School celebrated Christmas with high spirits on 24th December, 2016 in the school premises. The entire school wore a festive look as the students and the staff participated in the celebrations with enthusiasm. A special assembly was organized on this occasion. The programme started with a hymn praising the Lord Almighty followed by various and colourful dance performances by the students of classes IV, V, VIII and IX. The children sang in festive mood and presented few melodious songs and carols. The whole school echoed with the holy hymns recited by the students. The skits presented by the students of classes V, VI and VII reflected upon the teachings of Jesus Christ and his life and emphasized the importance of caring and sharing and spreading goodness all around.
The children spread cheer with their smiles and lovely attire. At the end of the program, Santa Claus arrived and filled the entire crowd with joy by distributing sweets and greeting everyone.
The Principal of the school, Ms. Vijaya Kumar, praised and appreciated the efforts of the students and the teachers. She briefed the students about the significance of the colours associated with Christmas. She also encouraged the students to spread love and happiness all around them and help the unprivileged ones in whatever small ways they can.
