Janmashtmi, a day that commemorates and celebrates the appearance of Lord Krishna was celebrated with great fervor at Staford School on 4th September, 2015. Children from classes nursery to class 8 participated in the celebration with great zeal and enthusiasm. Dressed in the attire of Krishna and gopikas, the students spread the message of ancient Puranas. This celebration brought focus on the multi faceted life of Krishna who excelled in all he did. Krishna is an embodiment of what human beings can become and achieve only if they realize their true potential. The celebration also brought awareness among the children about traditional customs while giving them a glimpse of the mirthful childhood pranks of Lord Krishna.
The celebration started with the dance performance of classes Nursery and KG on the song Radha kaise na jale, after which Arnav Joshi of class III A rendered the song Choti Choti Gaiya to bring to life the joys of Krishna as a cowherd.
The next performance was that of class I who stole everyone’s heart by an energetic and enthusiastic song performance on ‘Krishna Murli’ and dance performances on Kyu na bole mose mohan and Wo kisna hai. The next dance performance by the tiny tots of classes Nursery and KG on the song Mayya Yashoda brought to life the affectionate tales immortalized by the perennial love between mother and son. One of the finest performances of the day was by the students of class 5A who paid their tribute by their dance performance on the song Kanha Re
The children looked resplendent in their colourful attire and created a divine atmosphere, mirroring Krishna himself through their beaming faces.
