International Women’s Day is celebrated in the world over, every year on the eight day of March. It celebrates womanhood and pays tribute to the indomitable spirit of women across the globe. It’s root
lies in the early 1900s when oppression and inequality was spurring women to become more vocal
and active in campaigning for change.
The theme for this year was “To create awareness of gender equality for a healthy society.”
To achieve this equality, the milestone will be reached by providing
basic information to a girl child in every family of the society
that will further result in overall development of nation and its community.
Principal Ms Ratna Khanna addressed the girl students and explained them the importance of
balance between career and family. She stressed on the fact that girls should know their rights to defend themselves and be careful against crimes. A live video was telecasted for the students, wherein they watched the interaction of Honorable education minister with girl students. The students were told about the women helpline numbers.Stress was laid on the need for respect and integrity to maintain equality.
