Mathematics has been an integral part of education and learning since ancient times. It is the fundamental concept in the fields of science, engineering, medicine, astronomy and all those facets of knowledge. Therefore in order to build in children love and interest for this subject, Staford School organised an inter-house math quiz on 17th July, 2019. A quiz can function throughout a course as an informative feedback device allowing both the instructor and the students to see where they are excelling or need more focus.
Students from classes 5 onwards enthusiastically participate in this competition and represented their house. The quiz comprised of four rounds, the first round was individual question round, in which each member of a team was asked a question of their level. The second round was open question round, in which each team was asked one question. The round was Buzzer round and last round was rapid fire round, in which each team was given 1 minute to answer a set of asked questions. All team did well.
The competition winded up with Amber house being the winner, followed by Emerald house in second position. The honourable principal ma’am congratulated the winners and participants for their win and efforts, and encouraged the teachers, to conduct these types of events more often in coming future.
