Independence Day is celebrated every year on 15th August. It is a national festival and has equal importance for every Indian regardless of religion, class, creed or race. The way of celebration is also the same throughout the country and that is the day when we find whole India celebrating and rejoicing. Many cultural programmes are organized and children love to watch them and participate in them all over the country.
To develop a feeling of patriotism and love for the country the pre-primary wing of Staford School celebrated the 69th Independence Day on 14th August 2015. Through this celebration we aimed at:
- Instilling the pride of being Indians.
- Get the children pay tribute to the freedom fighters.
- Spread the feeling of brotherhood, love and respect for all Indians.
- Bring out the unity in diversity.
- Help make children responsible citizens.
The programme began by seeking the blessings of the Almighty through a dance performance on the prayer song by the students of class 1C. Next was the heart throbbing dance medley by the students of class Nursery and K.G. followed by the sargam song composed by our music teacher Mr. Anuj and presented by class 1A students. We witnessed some great dance performances by the immensely talented group of students who performed in various dance numbers and gave scintillating performances.
Last but not the least the students of class K.G. spoke few words on our legendary freedom fighters. The energetic and enthusiastic performances aroused a great feeling of patriotism and fraternity in every heart.
