Teachers’ Day is a special day when teachers are recognised and honoured by their students and society at large for the vital role they play. The Covid-19 pandemic has given all of us tough times, but our teachers have surely been a ray of hope. They had been a guiding force during the lockdown by not only teaching students the new ways to learn but also motivating them with their unwavering support. In spite of all impediments, they are relentlessly striving to ensure that ‘learning does not stop’.
In wake of coronavirus pandemic, Staford School celebrated Teachers’ Day virtually on 5th September,2020.
Various activities were taken up by the students to convey their love and gratitude towards all the teachers. Students prepared virtual gift cards and made videos to express their gratitude. They also penned down their thoughts in form of an email, where they acknowledged the contribution of their teachers. Parents too played a key role in this thanks giving by encouraging their wards to participate with zeal and vigour.
It is rightly quoted by Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam that the purpose of education is to make good human beings with skill and expertise. Enlightened human beings can be created by teachers. The overwhelming response from the students clearly portrayed the feelings of love, gratitude and respect, which have grown immensely during this crucial period of covid-19 pandemic. The teachers are truly proving that teaching is a work of heart.
