The ability to express someone else’s story in our own way enables a child to create his/her own identity. Storytelling is a greatest tool we have, to develop not just our children’s curiosity and imagination, but also their sense of empathy and belonging. To build confidence, enhance speaking skills and stimulate one’s imagination, a storytelling competition was organized for the pre-primary section of Staford School on 8th December 2017.
The tiny tots presented their stories with infectious enthusiasm.
The children narrated different the stories, such as The Lion and the Mouse, Two silly Goats, The Thirsty Crow, etc with detailed expressions, pauses, diction and a little enactment in a great style. Vibrant costumes and props added flavor to their narration and made their story look more realistic and effective. The participants’ mastery in the art of storytelling was evident by the way they captivated the audience. The judges had a tough time selecting and awarding the winners.
It was indeed a commendable presentation of story-telling by children so young!
The students who won the competition are:
Nursery: Om Kumar, Shaaz Ahmad, Sahas Patel, Hoorvash Abbas
KG1: Anvesha Anand, Reza Fatima, Anvi Trivedi
KG2: Shifa Zehra, Zarrin Fatima.
