Dussehra is one of the most significant festivals, celebrated in India. It is a ten day long festival celebrated all through the country with great enthusiasm. First nine days are celebrated as “NAVRATRA” festival which involves the worship of goddess Durga. On the tenth day, people celebrate the festival of Dussehra to celebrate the victory of lord Rama over Ravana.
To mark the victory of good over evil and to reinforce the message that good always triumphs over evil, students of Staford School celebrated Dussehra in the school premises on October 8th, 2016.
To celebrate this great ceremonial and religious festival, a special assembly was conducted, which was liked and applauded by all the students and teachers. The attractive costumes, songs/ bhajans and the fascinating props made the assembly worth viewing.
Scintillating performances based on the theme of festivity mesmerized the audience. The well rehearsed performances and ambience gave a very captivating look. Lastly, the effigy of Ravana was burnt in the school campus.
The Principal of the school, Ms. Vijaya Kumar acknowledged all the participants for their commendable performances and briefed the students about the significance of “Navratra” and “Dussehra”.
