Janmashtami is an important festival for Hindus. This festival was celebrated with great fervor and enthusiasm at Staford School on Tuesday, 24th August, 2016. The children of preprimary section came dressed as cute and naughty Kanhas and beautiful, adorable Radhas to enact playful activities of the lord.
The programme started with chanting of mantras, “Om Bhurv Bhuva swah”and Bhajan followed by the most joyful medley dances on “Yashu Mati Maiya”, “Maiya Yashoda” “Chhoti-Chhoti Gaiyya”and much more!! It was a feast to watch the little Stafordians depicting the birth of lord Krishna where the mythological character came alive.
The highlight of the programme was when the tiny tots along with Ratnakar sir broke the Matki hung by the ceiling which was full of sweets!! .
The Principal of the school, Ms. Vijaya Kumar, concluded the programme by explaining the significance of the occasion and the human manifestation of Lord Krishna that connects one and all in an everlasting bond of love.
