In today’s time, we hear a lot about child abuse and molestations. It’s high time, we should start teaching our young children about “Good touch and Bad touch” to help prevent more damage.
To create more awareness regarding this sensitive issue, an interactive session was organised in Staford School on 5th August, 2016 for the pre-primary students.
The session was aimed at teaching the students about appropriate and inappropriate touching. Some guidelines were given to the students to understand this difference with the help of the following examples: • Getting a good morning or good night kiss or hugs from parents is an example of a good touch. •When your grandparents hug you out of their elderly love, it’s a good touch. •When you feel uncomfortable with someone touching you in an inappropriate manner, it’s a bad touch. •If someone touches you in a wrong way just tell the person to ‘stop’. Share this with your trusted people. Don’t be shy or afraid of sharing this with your family because it’s okay and it’s your body and you have to be confident to protect yourself. Be brave and call someone for help.
An animated movie film depicting this ‘Good touch and bad touch’ was shown to the students in the end.
