Janmashtami is celebrated as the birthday of Lord Krishna, one of the most powerful and revered reincarnation of Lord Vishnu. The Primary Section of Staford School, Hardoi Road Branch celebrated Krishna Janmashtami with zeal and gaiety on 27th August, 2019.

There was an air of festivity on this occasion. The premise was decorated beautifully and the spirit of festivity was enhanced with flutes, peacock feathers and matkas, which were put up to make this event more vibrant and cheerful. The celebration began with a devotional song “Krishna murari hare hare, which added solemnity to the occasion. It was followed by spellbound dance performances by the children depicting the life history of Lord Krishna. Students of different classes donned the roles of Lord Sri Krishna and Gopikas amongst many other characters related to Janmashtami. They won the soul of spectators by enacting their respective roles perfectly. Cute Radha Krishna pairs danced around to the beats of janmashtami song, “Radha kaise na jale”. The scintillating dance performance on the song ‘Shyam kahan’ represented His ‘Leelas’ and depicted the importance of the occasion.  The short speeches by the students emphasised on the significance of Janamashtami as a festival which encourages goodwill and togetherness. They also made everyone aware of Indian tradition, custom and culture.

The Principal of the school, Mrs. Ratna Khanna, blessed all the students on this auspicious day and appreciated the efforts put in by them in a short duration. The bright and joyful faces of children lit the festive aura with spirit of love, devotion and faith.
