Visiting a zoo offers lot of incredible learning opportunities to children. While having a fun day exploring, kids develop valuable skills and obtain priceless knowledge. A day at a zoo also encourages a healthy lifestyle, further bringing children together and increasing their bond of friendship.
Keeping the same in mind, Staford Preschool, Chowk, took its students to the Lucknow Zoo. While kids of junior and senior play group were accompanied with their teachers on November 28; the nursery and kindergarten children enjoyed their visit on November 29, 2017.
As children walk around the zoo, teachers made sure that each child could recognise the animals they saw. They were taught to take care of and preserve the environment, as it has a significant impact on the lives and welfare of animals. Children were also made to differentiate between— tall and short trees, flowers and their colours, birds, fish, insects, mud and sand, wild animals and wild water animals. They were even taught animal sounds —from roaring of a lion to twittering of birds, and were educated on the type of food wild animals eat.
A trip in the train was an exciting experience for all. Kids seemed to be highly thrilled as the train moved all around the zoo.
Through this excursion, the tiny tots made use of all their senses to expand their understanding about animals and their environment. They also learnt the way animals smell or sniff. All in all, the trip to the zoo truly proved to be a multi-sensory approach to learning, for all kids who visited.
