“We make a living by what we get, But we make a life by what we give.”
Staford School advocates teaching methods that include engaged learning and ethical training for their students, rather than mere knowledge acquisition and abstract speculation. To Sensitize the young students towards the under privileged and the needy, an initiative was taken up by Staford School. A visit to ‘Nutan Bal Vidya Mandir- a home for orphans and under privileged was organized today, as a part of co-scholastic activity assigned to the students. The students of classes VI and VII visited the orphanage on Friday, 23rd December, 2016. They were accompanied by their teachers Ms.Shailja Joshi and Ms.Kamini Mishra. The students were very touched when they received the warm welcome from all the staff of the orphanage. All the kids were so eager to be with the volunteers as if they met their own relatives after a long time. On behalf of the orphanage, there was Mr. S Lal, Director of the Center, as well as other staff members who take care of the children and their requirements.
The students showed their love and affection towards the children through their gestures. They wanted to make the children happy and forever optimistic. The young Stafordians sang few melodious songs and distributed snacks, clothes and some toys to the orphans. It was an unforgettable trip. Children shared their experiences and unanimously expressed that the orphanage is ‘Paradise on Earth’, which provides a special sense of gratitude for all that is being done.
The trip to the orphanage was a moving experience for all, where the students saw the evidence of the human condition and struggle in reality. Yet, it was amazing to see the apparent open hearts, curiosity, willingness to help and eagerness to learn about other children and to hear about their dreams. It was inspiring to see them reach this level of accomplishment and strive for a better life with meagre means and support. It was also touching to see how these underprivileged kids embraced life and cared for each other and to hear about their generosity despite how little they have.
As quoted in one of the religious scriptures “The charity you give shall go to the parents, the relatives, the orphans, the poor, and the travelling alien.” Any good you do, GOD is fully aware thereof.”
