Rhymes enjoy an undisputed importance in the life of a kindergartener. It is a well known fact that when a child sees something, it is embedded in his/her mind for a longer time than when he/she just listens to it. Teaching of nursery rhymes not only develops speaking skills but also helps express their feelings through facial expression and gestures.
Poem recitation is an art of expression of thoughts and understanding towards English literature. A strong performance is one in which the meaning of the poem is powerfully and clearly conveyed to the audience. This was displayed beautifully by the students of classes Nursery and K.G, when they participated in English Rhyme Competition, held at Staford School on 9th of October 2015.
The children made all the characters of each rhyme come alive. They enthralled their teachers and friends with their articulation and memory skills while reciting rhymes. It was an excellent opportunity for them to gain confidence through stage exposure. Everyone was amazed and spellbound after seeing their pleasing performances. The judges of this event appreciated and applauded the performance of the children.
In Class Nursery, the first position was secured by Vihaan followed by Arnav and Swara securing the second and third position respectively.
In Class KG A, Fatima secured the first position and the second position was secured by Saksham.
In Class KG B, Aadya secured the first position and the second position was secured by Khushi.
