On 23rd October, 2020, the Pre-Primary & Class 1 students at Staford School celebrated Dussehra with a lot of religious zeal and fervour. The celebration marked the victory of Lord Rama over the demon king, Ravana and reinforced the message of the triumph of good over evil.
The teachers took the opportunity to explain the real significance of the festival to the students. Burning the effigy of Ravana, the ten headed one, the embodiment of vices and arrogance, is symbolic of destroying the innate evil tendencies that surface in human nature from time to time. The festival is all about conquering those evils within ourselves and getting rid of the evils in society by making a conscientious effort to first acknowledge the evils and then working towards eradicating them.
The little artists of Pre Primary enthralled their teachers and friends with their amazing creativity. They made fantastic craft items. They made effigies of Ravana, face masks, cards and various spectacular handcrafts.
The day turned out to be wonderful and fun-filled for the kids and the activity marked the spirit of virtuousness among them.
