Staford School conducted various competitions for the students of classes III to IX on 28th October, 2016, to draw out the hidden artistic talents in the students. The Art teacher, Mr. Ratnakar Sharma planned for the event. He arranged for the diya decoration competition, rangoli making competition, thali decoration, kalash decoration and mehndi competition. The students of Staford School participated enthusiastically and enjoyed spreading the hues of their imagination all over the premises. The myriad colours of the intricate rangoli designs created by the students looked like a rainbow of happiness. Moreover, the decoration with twinkling diyas gave the school foyer, a festive look.
The students participated house wise in five different groups for each competition. The Principal of the school, Ms. Vijaya Kumar lauded the efforts put in by the students and stressed upon the importance of organizing such competitions. She also reiterated on the fact that light within us must help to dispel the darkness and spread love, warmth and kindness as well as in giving and sharing.
After the competitions, the reception area of the school was decorated with the display of the beautiful diyas, kalash, thalis and the rangolis. The girls adorned their hands with the beautiful mehndis. Overall, tastefully decorated school campus added charm and religious fervour to the atmosphere.
These competitions not only brought the students closer to their culture and values, but also developed the skills of creativity and innovation in them.
