Education is the fusion process of teaching and learning. The purpose of education or teaching is installing new beliefs, habits, information, and knowledge. Although books are a major source of information and learning, yet, to develop new beliefs and habits by just reading and cramming a few books is just not possible. Apart from the theoretical knowledge,
Staford School also aims to develop social skills and soft skills among the students.
The students of Staford School visited the Defexpo 2020 on 8th February wherein they got a golden opportunity to view India and UP pavilion exhibits to get the exposure to new inventions in the field of defence.
The Expo was based on the theme — ‘Digital transformation of defence’ — wherein the students got the chance to view the leading brands in the defence sector under one roof.
Students also witnessed a live demonstration by land systems, flying display by aero platforms and operation demonstration by naval systems.
Some of the avionics, accessories, assemblies, products such as indigenous-digital map generator (i-DMG), engine and flight display unit, gas turbine electrical generator (GTEG)-60, air producer engine, glass cockpit for Do-228, automatic target recognition (ATR) and digital sand rapid prototyping technology were put up for display. It encouraged the students to develop a scientific fervor and an attitude of research mindedness so that they develop the qualities of analytical and critical thinking.
They were thrilled to see an upgraded Sukhoi-30 MKI cockpit simulator, which was an added attraction at the HAL stall.
A light utility helicopter was showcased at the outdoor static display area and ALH Mk IV Rudra, LCH, LUH, Do-228 civil and Tejas were dazzling in flying display. The students developed a sense of self efficacy and were motivated to be future scientists.
Such educational trips help the students to go beyond the classrooms and develop awareness and critical thinking. It also helps them to develop the technical approach and connect themselves across the country.
