The celebration of Diwali ‘The festival of lights’ came alive at Staford preschool, Thakurganj, where Diwali week was celebrated and students enjoyed different activities that were conducted with the festive mood.
On 2nd November, the tiny tots were overwhelmed to see the potter at his wheel, in the school campus. For most Kids it was a first experience to see live the diyas being made. They tried their hands at making colorful diyas which they later decorated enthusiastically.
The collages of crackers and Diyas made by the students adorned the school premises, making the spirit of festivity ‘loom large’.
The celebrations would have been incomplete without satiating the taste buds of the little ones. Therefore, on 6th November, students enjoyed ‘fireless’ cooking in which they decorated biscuits with vegetables to make beautiful diya shaped snacks, among the other mouth watering dishes. On the same day, coloring activity was also organized, in which the students colored the pictures of ‘Crackers’ and ‘Diyas’. The winners of various competitions were honoured with certificates.
The festival of Diwali symbolizes love, peace and harmony and Rangoli done by the teachers added the perfect setting to the festivity.
Besides all the fun and frolic, the students were sensitized to the ill-effects of bursting excessive crackers. The teachers shared the guidelines about being safe while bursting them.
It was heartwarming to witness the excitement and exuberance with which the students participated in all the activities.
WE WISH YOU ALL A VERY HAPPY AND SAFE DIWALI!
