Patriotic dancing is a wonderful way to introduce young children to the world’s rich diversity and enable them to teach the enjoyment of dance, music, and rhythm. It also provides opportunities for socialization and room for self expression. It improves self esteem.
An Inter House Dance Competition for the students of class V to IX was held on 8th August, 2018 at Staford School. The children dressed up in colourful costumes swayed to the beats of folk music and patriotic songs. The vivacious dances enthralled the audience with their energetic performance.
Children made use of interesting props like peacock feathers, food stalls and national flags during their dance performances. They sizzled and dazzled on the stage in their shimmering outfits.
Sapphire House stood first followed by Amber, Emerald and Garnet House at second, third and fourth positions respectively.
The choreography, rhythm, synchronization and presentation of all the students were par excellence. All the participants were lauded by the Principal, Mrs.Ratna Khanna. She encouraged the students with her inspiring words and motivated others to participate in the upcoming events.
Overall, the event was a major success in recreating the spirit of patriotism and belongingness towards the nation.
