“All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.” After spending the whole day in learning about the various subjects the little minds of the children get tired. To soothe their souls and to relieve them of the day’s tiredness, some creativity, novelty and enjoyment is required.
Drawing and painting relaxes the mind and enhances the imaginative power in a child, as the child paints his imagination.
On 9th May 2014, an interesting activity was planned for the students of class IV by their Art Teacher, Ms. Aisha Alvi to bring out the creative talents of the children. During the art and craft period, children took a black chart paper, each of 6×6 inches, the students drew a rough sketch on the chart paper using a pencil and then stuck the matchsticks on it to give a 3-dimensionallook. To enhance the beauty of their work, they coloured the matchsticks with vibrant colours and made the borders using coloured papers.
The children participated enthusiastically in the activity and left their teachers mesmerized by showcasing their talent and creativity. Here’s what they made:
