At Staford, we believe that only bookish knowledge is not sufficient for the overall understanding of different concepts. Students should be presented with situations where they need to apply the concepts learnt to achieve the solution of a problem. To serve this purpose and to put on display the knowledge gained within the academic year, students of class VII showcased a class presentation on 28th November, 2015.
The presentation began with a prayer to seek the blessing of the Almighty, followed by an English skit and a peace poem in which the students highlighted on the importance of peace and harmony in our lives. The efforts of the young students put forth the need of peace, which is an essence of our existence.
A Hindi skit which showed that letters are still the best medium way to convey one’s emotions was presented next.
After that, it was the turn of Mathematics. The students displayed through a short skit as to how a good understanding of Mathematics is necessary to make sense of all the numbers and problems that life poses at us. They applied the knowledge of statistics to prove that Sachin Tendulkar is greater test batsman than Lara by showing different statistics of his test career in the form of a graph.
In the following act which was associated with science, students of class VII performed an experiment related to flow of electricity by using conducting wires.
In Social Studies, the students showed the effect of advertisements on our daily life through a PowerPoint presentation.
A skit to show how computers and robotics can make our life easier by creating gadgets which can perform daily chores with great ease followed next. The children justified it by showing an example of a cleaning and mopping bot prepared by them.
Last but not the least, a General Knowledge presentation was put up by the students which showcased steps taken by government of India to make India a digital economy. In this act, students explained the use of digital locker and national scholarship portal.
The presentation concluded with a short speech by our respected Principal ma’am thanking the parents for their encouraging presence. It was followed by a brief interactive and feedback session with the parents. Overall, it was a great effort put in by the students of class VII.
