Giving students an opportunity to make verbal and visual presentations to an audience is the part of the initiative taken by t Staford School to bring about a difference in their personality. Class presentations by individual students is an excellent way to increase, and improve confidence by providing that extra dose of encouragement by performing before a semi-familiar audience consisting of parents- a step beyond the non-threatening audience of the peer group or class which children are usually comfortable with. These presentations help the students enhance their skills and confidence of expressing themselves contextually not only through written assignments. but verbal presentations.
Keeping in view the aforementioned objectives, a Class Presentation was scheduled for Class VI on 25th July . The Presentation began with the school prayer, followed by topic wise presentations of the core subjects. The children started with an enactment on the poem- The Bazaars of Hyderabad by Sarojini Naidu in English, followed by a presentation on Robotics and its applications. Unity in Diversity was the topic in Social Studies, Playing with numbers (Sieve of Eratosthenes) was the theme chosen for Mathematics; Components of food were explained by the children in Science and the poems Aavishkaar, and Pradooshan were part of the Hindi recitation.
The entire presentation was carried out by the students. They handled everything- right from compering to arrangements and channelizing of the props throughout.
An address by the Principal followed by an interaction with the parents concluded the hour-long presentation.
Overall, it was a new learning experience for the students which infused in them a spark of confidence and gave them a platform to present their learning in the best possible manner.
