Class presentation is one of the effective teaching strategies helping the students to practically access their learning and having an entirely different approach from what the assessments have. At Staford, we believe that an innovative and interactive approach towards the process of teaching and learning helps in fruitful learning for the students. Carrying this initiative further, a class presentation was held for Class IX A on 8th of October, 2016.
The presentation was based on various topics from different subjects and focused mainly on the confidence building and improving communication skills of the students. Right from compering to conducting the presentation, all responsibilities were executed by the children themselves.
The presentation began with seeking the blessings from Almighty Lord. A skit in English based on the comparison of Simple Past and Present Perfect was presented followed by an interactive session with the parents. Hindi section witnessed an inclination towards the social responsibilities which the children should shoulder, once they step out. Short skits on topics like prevention from Dengue, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, child labour and save the girl child were presented in an effective manner and were successful in putting forth the message to the society.
Moving further, the Science presentation took the audience to the world of animal cell where the organelles were live and talking about their importance and role in sustaining basic processes of life.
A skit based on the Natural Disaster followed next in the Social Science section highlighting on topics like flood and role of humans showcased the causes, destruction, rehabilitation, disaster mitigation and some safety rules which one should keep in mind. It was truly an inspiring and educative skit which touched everyone’s heart by showing the sufferings of human race through pictures of Uttarakhand floods in 2013.
Mathematics section focused on some real life and interesting application of mathematics such as counting the grains of a corn, estimation of earning of a juice seller in a fair by the measure of his glass, finding out the diameter of a cricket ball and football etc followed by an interactive round with the parents. It was an effort to bring children closer to the subject and remove the inhibitions which they generally have towards the subject.
Overall, it was a commendable effort by the students of class IX to showcase an interactive and interesting way of presenting various topics learnt throughout their academic session.
