Today is the day when we burn all our sins
And promise to begin all over again
Flames come and take all the darkness away
Light shines and makes its own way
Because this is the festival where truth wins
India is known as a land of festivals and celebrations and ‘Dussehra’ is one of them which is unique in its perception and significance. Keeping the festive spirit alive, students of Staford School, Lucknow, celebrated Dussehra on 17.10.2018 with full gaiety and fervour. The esteemed guests for the day were Assistant Director, Mrs. Anjali Bansal and the Centre Heads of Staford Pre School Chowk and Thakurganj Branch, Ms. Roopali Awasthi and Ms. Aparna Singh respectively. They graced the occasion with their presence.
The programme started with Durga Stuti which was followed by a skit which showcased the triumph of good over evil and signifying the importance of Dussehra. The students performed dance and song in which the life history of Lord Rama was depicted. The colourful attire of the performers made the event even more mesmerizing. To mark lord Rama’s victory over Ravana and to reinforce the message that good always prevails over evil, the effigy of Ravana was burnt symbolizing the burning of all vices within a person. Ms Ratna Khanna, our school principal, while wishing the students told them the importance of this festival. Students went back home happily with sweets.
