When the tricolour unfurled and flowers fell like confetti on all who paid homage to it with a salute, the air of nationalism seemed to fill the air.
Gripped in patriotic fervour, the senior most students of Staford Preschool, Chowk — the kindergarteners, won several rounds of applause as they performed to the tunes of ‘Ek tera naam hai saacha …Vande Matram’— a song that is an ode to the Motherland, at a function held to mark the occasion of Republic Day. Each spectator who stood up in pride to give them a standing ovation was seen shedding tears of happiness, while the young children smiled innocently and dedicated their performance to Mother India and all national patriots.
Dressed in white kurta pyajamas, they presented each action with just right the expression. The steps and formations that they made clearly depicted the boundless love they have in their little hearts for their country. Towards the end of this dance performance, one of the performing girls came forward and waved the national flag.
A historic moment followed this dance sequence when Syed Mohd Sadiq Rizvi, a child as young as 2 years of age, sang the national anthem in rhythm. The audience were left spell bound as he pronounced each word clearly and made everyone rise to sing along with him. Proud parents, Mrs Tanvir and Mr Mohd Aqil Rizvi also earned all praises for their dear son.
