“An excursion is learning full of joy and excitement. It’s a life greatest adventure; it’s an illustrated learning into the minds of the noble and the learned.”
Staford School organised a field trip to ‘Gaushala / Animal farm’ on 27 December, 2017 for class 3.
The main aim to organise such an educative visit was to make the students learn about the milching animals as well as the benefits of dairy products. They also learnt the medicinal uses and benefits of cow dunk and cow urine. They also learned how the injured and sick cows are taken care of. An entire process of preparing and storing fodder for the cows was also shown to the students and they enjoyed feeding the cows with jaggery and dry fodder.
In India, cow is the only animal that is acknowledged as ‘mother’ and mostly worshipped as goddess. Therefore, through this visit the students learned that due to end number of boons, this animal is worth worshipping. Along with the cows, students also saw other animals of the farm like geese, dogs and their pups, peacock and rabbits.
Thus altogether, the visit was a zealous, knowledgeable and of course a memorable one for both students as well as the teachers.
